Three finalists have been announced for the prestigious Veuve Clicquot businesswoman award, all coming from large UK businesses.

Ms Blackett was praised for promoting an apprenticeship scheme, Ms Green for developing a digital strategy, and Ms Shepherdson for making Whistles an international brand.

Three finalists for Veuve Clicquot's new generation award were also announced - Jenny Dawson, founder of chutney and jam firm Rubies in the Rubble, Melissa Morris, founder of GP recruitment firm Network Locum, and Sharmadean Reid, founder of WAH Nails.

Christina Jesaitis of Veuve Clicquot said: "It is important that these women are celebrated, not least because of their achievements, but also as a catalyst to inspire future generations of female entrepreneurs."
