Thomas Markle has finally given up hope of ever reuniting with his daughter Meghan, according to reports.

The Duchess of Sussex's half brother, Tom Markle Jnr, said that his father no longer trusts his daughter.

It comes amid Meghan's efforts to sue the The Mail on Sunday's publisher Associated Newspapers Ltd over an article which reproduced parts of a handwritten letter sent by her to her estranged father Thomas Markle, 76, in August 2018.

Tom Jnr, 53, told the Mirror: “As far as a reunion goes, he’s given up on Meghan and Harry completely.

“He doesn’t trust her and doesn’t want to know that person because of the lies, manipulation and deceit.

"He just had his 76th birthday – needless to say, he didn’t hear from Meghan.”

Tom Hnr also slammed claims made in the explosive new book Finding Freedom about his father.

He said his father denies the book’s claims tht he ignored scores of texts and calls telling him to come to Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding.

The couple have tried to distance themselves from the book, insisting that it was based on “independent reporting” and that they did not contribute to it.

Speaking about the book’s claims, Tom Jnr said: “It says Harry spoke to our dad to say if he’d listened to him, Harry, there wouldn’t have been any problems. That just did not happen."

He said their father was in hospital during that period of time and his phone would have been switched off.

“That’s why he didn’t answer, there’s no way he could have," he added.

"Our dad actually called her scores of times ahead of the wedding after he made the mistake of doing those pics, but he was ignored."

Tom Jnr also claimed that the Palace had told Meghan and Harry to send support to Thomas Markle to help him deal with the press, but that she said no.

Despite apparently giving up on his daughter, Thomas still wants to have a relationship with his grandson Archie, Mr Jnr said.

Tom Jnr added: “He will fight and pursue the avenues needed to see Archie. They’re not the only ones who can launch a court case. He’d love to hold that little boy one time."
