A top choreographer who went for sleepovers at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch when he was a boy has started legal action accusing the late star of child molestation.

Wade Robson, 30, filed court documents requesting financial compensation from the singer’s estate for “childhood sexual abuse”.

In the past, Robson backed Jackson’s claims of innocence and defended him in public. He was a key witness at the trial in 2005 which ended with Jackson being cleared of child abuse and conspiracy to molest minors. Robson insisted he had never been touched inappropriately.

The two met when Robson was five. By the time he was seven, he would often spend the night at Jackson’s homes in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and the Neverland Ranch north of Santa Barbara, California.

According to celebrity website TMZ, Robson’s court filing is sealed, meaning details have not been made public. But a source told E! News: “Wade used to tell me that Michael would ask to have baths with him… It sounded strange, but we never delved further.”

Jackson’s family are suing concert promoters AEG in a wrongful death case, claiming that the company was negligent in hiring Dr Conrad Murray, who supplied the anaesthetic that killed the singer in 2009.AEG says Murray’s employment was Jackson’s decision. The case continues.
