Injured Imran Khan leaves hospital

22 May 2013

Imran Khan today left hospital, two weeks after he fractured three vertebrae and a rib when he fell 15 feet from a forklift truck at a campaign rally in Lahore.

The former cricket star and PTI party leader, wearing a spinal brace, walked unaided from the ward. The accident largely knocked him out of the final campaigning days of national elections, held on May 11.

His party gained significant ground in the vote which was won by Nawaz Sharif’s PML-N party.

A spokesman for Mr Khan said: “Thank God, Imran can walk. He is now at his home after being discharged from the hospital.”
