Florida shooting: Parkland student brands Donald Trump a 'piece of s***' over school massacre response

Donald Trump has been branded a “piece of s***” by a student who is believed to have been caught up in the Florida school mass shooting which left 17 people dead.

The girl’s response to the US President’s message of condolence to those affected by the Valentine’s Day massacre went viral as she urged him to introduce gun control measures.

Responding to Mr Trump’s tweet, the girl, known only as Sarah and believed to be 16, claimed several of her classmates at the high school were killed in Wednesday's horrifying shooting in Parkland.

She urged the president to “do something instead of sending prayers” as it emerged that a gunman, believed to be student Nikolas Cruz, 19, gone on a deadly rampage.

In response to the tragedy, the US President had tweeted his “prayers and condolences” to the families of those murdered as the shooter stormed Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Dismissing the US leader’s message of support, she wrote on Twitter: “I don’t want your condolences you f****** price [sic] of s***, my friends and teachers were shot. Multiple of my fellow classmates are dead.

“Do something instead of sending prayers. Prayers won’t fix this. But gun control will prevent it from happening again.”

Her message had been shared more than 153,000 times on the social media site by Thursday afternoon.

The girl, whose social media profile said she was from the Parkland area, also tweeted that everyone who attends the high school has been “traumatized” by the tragic events that unfolded.

As news broke that the school was on lockdown and a gunman was on the loose, she tweeted: "THERE'S A SCHOOL SHOOTING RN [right now] AT MY SCHOOL.”

Sarah’s account has posted a number of tweets relating to Parkland and the school in recent weeks.

Cruz has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder after he allegedly opened fire at the high school with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.

Police said he had a history of “disturbing” social media posts, while former classmates said he was obsessed with guns.

Troubled teenager Cruz was marked as a potential campus threat months before the attack.

Police and FBI investigators spent the night quizzing Cruz over the massacre as grief-stricken parents demanded to know: Why wasn’t he stopped? He was pictured dressed in a hospital uniform as he left Broward's County Sheriff's Office on Thursday morning.

Cruz was transferred to the county jail where he will wait until his first court hearing later the same day.

Gun-crazy Cruz, who was expelled last year, had even ‘joked’ about killing his former classmates at the Florida school.

Details about the shooting were still emerging on Thursday, but it is believed the gunman deliberately set off the fire alarm so youngsters would leave their classrooms as he arrived.
