Bear wanders through empty streets in Italy amid coronavirus lockdown

A bear has been spotted wandering the empty streets of Italy amid the coronavirus lockdown.

Footage shows the animal sauntering down the streets in Molveno, northern Italy, possibly on the hunt for food.

With most countries enforcing some level of lockdown amid the Covid-19 outbreak, wild animals are being spotted in cities across the globe.

South Australia Police captured the footage of the animal taking in the sights of the city's downtown area.

Posting on Twitter, the police force joked that they were "tracking a suspect wearing a grey fur coat" and he was last seen on foot heading into the West Parklands.

Despite a drop in the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases, Australia still has strict "lockdown" rules in most areas.

In South Africa's Kruger National Park, lions have been taking advantage of the quiet roads during the lockdown to sleep in areas that would normally be busy with tourists.

The wildlife park in the north-east of the country has been closed since March 25 in compliance with the Government's lockdown measures.

Park ranger Richard Sowry shared the photo of the sleeping pride and said: "These are difficult times for everyone and the intention was to bring people joy."
