The widow of the real American sniper is pictured apparently wearing her late husband's Rolex Submariner and military dog tags in a poignant tribute to him.

Taya Kyle - the widow of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle - wore the items as she attended the murder trial of former US Marine Eddie Ray Routh, 27.

He is accused of shooting dead Kyle, whose story inspired the blockbuster Clint Eastwood film American Sniper starring Bradley Cooper.

Navy SEALs traditionally wore iconic Submariner model Rolexes, which are known for their water resistance.

Mrs Kyle was at court in Texas for Routh's ongoing murder trial. He is accused of killing Kyle at a US shooting range in February 2013.

Chris Kyle's story was turned into an Oscar-nominated film starring Bradley Cooper

Kyle, the subject of the Oscar nominated American Sniper, was the most lethal sniper in US military history with 160 confirmed kills and four completed tours of Iraq.
