Fiona Simpson12 April 2018

Meghan Markle’s outspoken half-sister Samantha Grant has repeatedly hit headlines for her opinions on the soon-to-be newest member of the British royal family.

Ms Grant, 53, who goes by the name of Samantha Markle on Twitter, has claimed she is planning to release a tell-all style book on her famous sibling’s family life and upbringing.

Since Prince Harry and Meghan’s relationship became public, Ms Grant has regularly taken to social media to comment on the couple and has given interviews to the Sun newspaper and ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

Here is all you need to know about Ms Grant.

Who is Samantha Grant?

Ms Grant, 53, lives in Florida, and is the half-sister of American actress and Prince Harry’s fiancée Meghan Markle.

She is the daughter of Thomas Markle Sr and his first wife, Roslyn. Her half-sister Meghan is the daughter of Thomas Markle Sr and his second wife, yoga teacher Doria.

Ms Grant’s other siblings include a full brother, Thomas Jr and half-brother Bobby from Roslyn’s subsequent relationship.

The mother-of-three was reportedly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2008 and uses a wheelchair.

What has she said about Meghan?

Ms Grant has previously said her and Meghan have not been on speaking terms since 2008.

In November last year, shortly after news of Harry and Meghan’s romance broke, Ms Grant described her sister as a “shallow social climber” who has a “soft spot for gingers”.

She added: “Her behaviour is certainly not befitting of a royal family member.”

According to the Sun, Ms Grant also said: “Hollywood has changed her. I think her ambition is to become a princess.”

She is also planning to release a so-called inside story of Meghan Markle, entitled The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister.

Just weeks before the wedding Ms Grant blasted her sister for "inviting members of the public but not her family" to the wedding.

Samantha Grant unleashed a furious rant on Twitter claiming that none of the Markle family have been invited to the big day and criticised the couple for showing a lack of “respect”.

She claims she is not after fame

In April, Ms Grant told the Sun she was “not really interested in fame, I just want to speak the truth".

She also tweeted: “Media is so negative. I don't want fame or wealth. I just want surgery to walk again. What we take for granted.”

She previously set up a GoFundMe page to raise thousands of dollars to make her home wheelchair accessible.

When is her book out?

It is not known when her book will be released, although Ms Grant has repeatedly shared messages about it on social media.

“Excited for my book coming out and wait until you see what our home life was like,” she tweeted on Christmas Day.

She has previously posted on Twitter: “Read about our home life and see photographs never seen before! "The Diary of Princess Pushy's Sister".

Another tweet read: “Tabloid writers are so off base about our childhood and when things happened. You'll just have to read my book to find out!”

In July, she tweeted “My book is done!!!!” although did not specify if it was related.
