Tom Felton addresses collapse at celebrity golf tournament

Tammy Hughes26 September 2021

The Harry Potter star, 34, said he was “on the mend” after a “scary episode” at the Whistling Straits Golf Course in Wisconsin, US.

He was pictured being helped by organisers after suffering a medical emergency on the course.

Posting a video to Instagram he said: “Hello everyone, ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the lovely well wishes as of... a scary episode really.

“People have been taking really good care of me so thank you very much to anyone who has sent messages of get well soon, because I am on the mend officially, in case you were worried.”

He then broke out into a song telling people not to worry as he played his guitar before ending the video by saying: “Thank you so much for your help, I’m on the road to recovery. Time to go watch some Ryder Cup action. Love you”

The cause of Mr Felton’s collapse still isn’t clear.

He was representing Europe in a six-a-side celebrity tournament as part of this year’s Ryder Cup when he fell ill after the 18th hole and had to be carried away on a stretcher.

He had been playing alongside former NHL star Teemu Selänne, 1980 US Olympic hockey team captain Mike Eurzione and retired speed skater Dan Jansen.

Mr Felton’s friend, singer Derek Pitts, updated fans on Friday to ensure nobody panicked.

Alongside a snap of Tom smiling in the sunshine, Derek wrote: “He’s okay. speedy recovery brother.”
