Robo-pup tipped as top Christmas gift, say Hamleys experts

Charming: Zelf is a new kind of troll
27 June 2013

A robotic puppy which responds to the human voice is expected to be among the most popular children’s toys this Christmas.

Hamleys experts today predicted that the £75 Teksta Puppy, which obeys commands to sit and backflip, would be among the 10 most wanted toys.

Also in the anticipated top 10 are the £14 Robo Fish, the new Furby Boom at £75 and the Leappad Ultra, a £125 children’s tablet.

The VIP Pets, for £14, are animal figurines with stylable hair, Chasin Cheeky is a ring-tossing game featuring a monkey for £26 and Doc McStuffins Doctor’s Bag is a “medicine kit” for stuffed animals and toys costing £26.

Also expected to be popular is Zelf, a new version of trolls out next month. There are 12 Zelfs, each with their own “charm”.
