I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! has been cancelled for the rest of the weekend due to Storm Arwen.

ITV said the show’s production base was damaged during stormy weather.

A spokesperson said: “Owing to technical difficulties caused by extreme weather conditions in the area, there will be no new episodes of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

“I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be replaced tonight and tomorrow night in the ITV schedules by compilation shows (voiced by Ant & Dec) featuring best moments from previous series.”

Instead, ITV will play two “best of” shows to fill the prime-time 9pm slots.

The celebrities are safe and in Gwrych Castle in North Wales, and only essential crew remain on site.

It comes after the production base suffered significant damage as Storm Arwen battered the area on Friday night.

At least three people have died after the storm brought gusts of 100mph, causing road closures, train delays and power cuts across the UK.

This year I’m A Celebrity returned to Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales.

The show had previously been filmed in the Australian outback but moved to Wales due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.

Friday’s episode of the ITV series was the first to be pre-recorded due to the weather conditions.

Co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly recorded their links early in the evening as part of “precautionary measures” put in place by ITV following severe storm warnings.

ITV’s flagship show was dealt a major blow when Richard Madeley, one of the early favourites to win, was forced to leave after being rushed to hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The TV presenter said he would not be returning to the show because he “broke the Covid ‘bubble’” after leaving the set.
