The boyfriend of a Holby City star’s daughter who is feared to have died from a drugs overdose had recently released a music single produced by British grime star Skepta.

Ceon Broughton, 28, was released by police last night after being arrested on suspicion of the murder of Louella Michie and supplying Class A drugs.

The body of Miss Michie, the daughter of Holby City and former Coronation Street actor John Michie, was found in secluded woodland at the Bestival music festival in Dorset early on Monday.

A post mortem has found no evidence that the 25-year-old suffered any physical injuries and police are now waiting for the results of toxicology tests to determine how she died.

She and Mr Broughton, an aspiring rapper, are said to have had an on-off relationship for a number of years and the couple had spent the weekend at the festival near Lulworth Castle.

The rapper, who performs under the artist name CEONRPG, released a new song and video last week called ‘Duracell’ which was produced by Skepta. The video was directed by Miss Michie’s brother Sam.

Miss Michie’s family issued a statement saying their hearts had been broken by the “horrific tragedy.”

The statement added: “We do not believe there to have been any malice intended in Louella and Ceon’s weekend at Bestival. They appear to have taken an illegal substance.”

Miss Michie, a dancer and a model, was found by police on the fringe of the music festival in an area known as the “Ambient Forest.”

Today the Sun reported one unnamed festival goer saying that she looked “dazed and unsteady” in the hours before she died.

They also claimed the area of woodland had been used by drug-dealers selling substances such as ketamine and nitrous oxide.

One told the newspaper : “There were guys there selling balloons (nitrous oxide) to people in the forest area. They weren’t a nice bunch.

“They were charging £10 for two balloons and then robbing people by refusing to give change. There was a lot of drug-taking.

“It was out of control and awash with drug-taking. There was all sorts going on, people on ketamine.”

He added: “I last saw Louella in that area. Her eyes were usually so beautiful but, when I saw her on Sunday, she didn’t look very well at all and was unsteady. Her eyes weren’t good then. She looked odd and didn’t look very happy.”

It is believed that Mr Broughton raised the alarm after his girlfriend collapsed and he telephoned Mr Michie. The actor and his wife Carol, a former Hot Gossip dancer, drove the 130 miles to the festival site from their north London home.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “An initial post-mortem examination took place on September 11, which showed no clear signs of an assault.

“However, further examinations will need to take place over the coming weeks, including toxicology, in order to establish if there are any substances in her system or other suspicious circumstances.

“A 28-year-old man, who was known to Louella, was arrested on suspicion of murder and supply of a controlled class A drug. He has now been released under investigation.”

A police spokeswoman declined to comment on which Class A drug the 28-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of supplying.

On Monday, the organisers of Bestival said they were “devastated” by the death and were supporting police with the investigation.

A spokesman said the festival had a “zero-tolerance” drugs policy.

Mr Michie, 60, who currently plays neurosurgeon Guy Self in BBC medical drama Holby City, has two other children, Daisy and Sam.

He played Karl Munro in Coronation Street from 2011 to 2013, having starred as Detective Inspector Robbie Ross in drama series Taggart from 1998 to 2010.
