A 13-year-old boy has died after being hit by a BMW in Essex.
The boy, who was on foot, was struck by the car on the A127 near its junction with Basildon just before 8pm on Monday.
He was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to Basildon Hospital.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Witnesses are asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Essex Police via 101.
