Wedding guests who were inside Westminster Abbey for the ceremony described the moving service they had witnessed.
James Hopkins, a friend of William and Kate's, said his favourite part of the service was "when I saw Kate and William walking down the aisle".
"They looked amazing. It's just such a happy occasion for everyone in the country and around the world. I thought the whole thing was absolutely marvellous. The flowers and trees looked incredible."
Cynthia Shebbeare said listening to Kate and William take their vows was the most moving part of the service.
"Kate was incredibly relaxed," she said. "There was a funny moment when she was walking in and Harry turned around and smiled and everyone laughed."
Melissa Cordingley, who attended the wedding with her husband General Patrick Cordingley, said: "It was fabulous, it was wonderful, it was emotional. It was what every royal wedding should be.
"It was like a small wedding in some ways as there was such a tremendous intimacy about it. It certainly lived up to my expectations."
"The highlight had to be Catherine's dress, it was stunning," said Ann Chalmers, chief executive of the Child Bereavement Charity. William has been patron of the charity since 2009.
Lieutenant Colonel Kathy Knell said she loved the bride's "simple" style. She said: "She looked absolutely stunning. I would describe her look as simple. Both her and William looked completely at ease.
"The only thing is, is that I felt like we were missing what was going on outside, it sounded like a lot of fun."
