A man has died after being hit by a Tube train in north London.

British Transport Police were called to Archway station, in Islington, after the man was hit by a Northern Line train at 10.15am on Wednesday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for BTP said: “Work is now underway to identify the man and inform his family.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Dramatic images posted on social media showed police cars, ambulances and fire engines flock to the station which was evacuated.

There is currently no Northern Line service between Camden Town and Mill Hill East following the incident.
