A 24-hour bus strike will affect some services throughout north London today (THURS), transport bosses warned.
Severe disruption is expected in some areas,
Victoria Tube station is expected to be busier than usual with passengers forced to switch from the bus to the Underground
The dispute, over pay, will hit those buses operated by Arriva North London - Transport for London (TfL) said commuters may have to walk or cycle instead.
Services are expected to be disrupted until early Friday morning and night bus services tonight will also be affected.
Other bus companies are not involved in the dispute and will operate normally.
Routes expected to suffer most, including some into central London, include the 29, 38, 73, 149 and 243.
A TfL spokesman said: "Arrive North London operate around 10 per cent of bus services in London and the strike action is likely to result in severe disruption on a significant number of routes and some services may not run.
"Some Tube stations in north and Central London, including Victoria, Seven sisters, Tottenham Hale, Wood Green and Turnpike Lane are anticipated too be busier than normal.
"Passengers are being urged to allow a little more time to complete their journeys tomorrow."
Leon Daniels, TfL's managing director for surface transport, said: "We are sorry that some bus passengers will have their journeys disrupted.
"We are working hard behind the scenes to provide as much detailed information and assistance to passengers as possible to minimise the disruption.
"We would strongly urge Unite - the union which has ordered the walkout - and Arriva North London to continue with discussions to resolve this dispute and prevent further disruption to passengers."
