Tech & Science Daily: Why American women are swapping period apps

The founder of a tech education company is advising women in America to think differently about using period tracking apps, and increase their digital privacy – in light of the recent law change in the US, that allows states to criminalise abortions.

Sinead Bovell, founder of WAYE Talks and UN speaker on tech and the future, was speaking through her Instagram account and explained why it will benefit women to make privacy changes in the way they search for things like abortion clinics online.

She also called on the big tech firms not to leave it up to women to make changes – but to alter the way they collect and use people’s data.

Medical students at the University of Cambridge are being trained through a new way of learning, using augmented reality and holograms of patients.

Tech & Science Daily spoke to Ruby Woodward, a medic and PHD student at Cambridge University, who says she’s hopeful this technology can be used to demonstrate more examples of medical situations.
