Tech start-up invents 'chairless chair' which lets workers sit anywhere without a seat

A German start-up has created a so-called ‘chairless chair’ which lets you sit wherever you like.

The portable contraption, which looks like an exoskeleton, extends from the hip to the backs of the feet.

Created by Noonee, the chairless chair weighs just 3.5kg and is made from composite polymers.

Adaptable to different body sizes, the contraption is designed to help employees at manufacturing firms who have to stand up for long periods of time at work.

Noonee AG explained: “The main application is for the manufacturing companies, where workers are required to stand for a long period of time.

“With the Chairless Chair the users walk together with the sitting support while wearing it, without obstructing the workspace, at the same time avoiding strenuous postures such as bending, squatting or crouching.”
