Apple starts selling iPad Minis with new Retina displays

New iPad Mini: Apple's iPad Mini is now on sale with a Retina display
Robin de Peyer13 November 2013

Apple has started selling iPad Minis with Retina displays in its online store - three weeks after the updated tablet was officially announced.

Prices for the 7.9inch screen model start at £319 for the Wifi-only version and £419 for cellular access as well.

Its new display will bring the Mini in line with the full-size iPad models, and rival seven-inch tablets such as Google’s Nexus 7. Its sharpness is such that pixels cannot be discerned by the naked eye.

The iPad Mini comes with memory sizes ranging from 16-128GB, with prices for the top end model reaching £659.

Its bigger brother, the iPad Air – which has a larger, 9.7inch screen – went on sale at the beginning of this month.

Apple’s chief executive Tim Cook warned last month that it is “not clear” if stocks of the iPad Mini will last throughout the Christmas period.
