Prince Harry has now apparently given up smoking, alcohol and caffeine

Dry January indeed

There’s a lot of things we’d do for love, though it seems like Prince Harry’s going the extra mile for Meghan Markle in 2019.

Given the Duchess of Sussex is giving caffeine and alcohol a miss now she’s pregnant, Prince Harry is allegedly following suit in a show of solidarity. According to The Express, Prince Harry has chosen to “replace alcohol and caffeine with still mineral water” - a change for the royal who once went on a 48-hour spree in Las Vegas.

It was reported last year by royal commentator Omid Scobie that both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were spotted “toasting with water” at a state dinner in Fiji, so he appears to have got a head start on your dry January plans.

Prince Harry has reportedly also given up the most British of past times: piping hot cups of tea. Yahoo claimed that his new no-caffeine rule related to “anything with caffeine in it, including tea and coffee”, although The Sun reported that Kensington Palace “declined to comment” on the matter.

It was also widely reported last year that the Prince ditched cigarettes in the lead up to his and Meghan Markle’s nuptials. The Daily Star claimed that smoking had been “banned permanently” at his home Nottingham Cottage, prior to the Duchess’ move to the UK from Toronto.

This is all speculation of course, though one believable titbit a source shared with The Express was that the Prince also now "does a bit of yoga".

Given Meghan Markle's mother Doria Ragland is a certified yoga instructor and passed her passion down to her daughter, a few morning Downward Dogs would seem like the natural exercise choice for the Prince. Sounds like he's going to be having a pretty healthy 2019. We'll toast to that... with mineral water.
