It's all getting so Riverdale

What will Prince George call himself now that the new Royal Baby, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, has stolen his alleged secret nickname?

According to The Sun, earlier this year Prince George reportedly told a dog walker that he is actually called Archie.

“I was asked by a police minder not to take a photo of the children, which I didn’t, but George started stroking my dog. Just to be friendly I engaged in a bit of small talk and I asked George what his name was, even though obviously I knew it" the dog walker, who wished to remain anonymous, told the paper.

"To my astonishment he said ‘I’m called Archie’ with a big smile on his face. I don’t know why he calls himself Archie but kids often play with their names and I think it’s lovely” she added.

Perhaps that's where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drew their inspiration from? Or maybe they're just big Riverdale fans - although in that case, the name Bughead would also fit.

That's not Prince George's only reported nickname. According to Vanity Fair, his classmates have dubbed him "P.G."

Prince George reportedly revealed the Archie nickname news when he was on a walk with his grandmother, Kate Middleton's mother Carole, and his sister, Princess Charlotte. They were playing in a stream near the family's home in Berkshire.

Prince George wouldn't be the only Royal with a stealth nickname. Prince William reportedly went by "Steve" during his university days and Prince Harry was said to go by Spike Wells on Facebook - if his Facebook existed now it would surely be full of baby photos.

Now, Prince George will almost certainly need to choose a new nickname - although not before Instagram humorist Gary Janetti has a field day with his current one (the Will & Grace writer imagines Prince George's sassy thoughts).

All hail both Prince Archies.
