Theresa May reportedly joked about the size of Donald Trump’s hands at a lavish private fundraiser for Tory donors.

The Prime Minister is said to have made light of photographs of the pair at the White House in which they held hands as they walked down a slope.

Mrs May made the remarks after she was applauded as she stood to speak at the Black and White Ball, the annual Conservative Party fundraiser, the Telegraph reported.

In response to the applause, the newspaper quoted her as saying: “Thank you very much for that wonderful reception.

“I don’t think I have received such a big hand since I walked down the colonnade at the White House.”

The US President and the PM were photographed walking hand in hand down a passage at the White House during her visit last month.
