Police are investigating reports that several Scottish citizens have been trying to sell their votes for the country's upcoming referendum on independence.
The votes were advertised for sale on eBay for as little as £1.04.
They have since been removed by the online auction website as the Electoral Commission confirmed it was aware of the incident, according to reports on STV.
One listing, which was posted by an online user calling themselves chrisoc1986, read: "This is my very own unique piece of British History! It is my personal YES or NO vote for the upcoming Scottish Referendum in September.
"I for one, do not give a flying monkeys about any of this. This could be the deciding vote. Who knows? I am a hard working Scottish citizen with a house, a gorgeous wife and two beautiful kids who are my world."
It added: "This vote will not change anything in our lives so I have decided not to vote my opinion but instead..... ONE OF YOURS! Happy Bidding".
A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed the force was investigating the eBay listings, adding that he could not comment on them until "all inquires are concluded".
Postal votes for the referendum, which takes place on September 18, were sent out to voters earlier this week.
