One of Ed Miliband’s rising stars has said she would never use her Labour leader’s “One Nation” catchphrase in her own constituency.

Shadow business minister Stella Creasy also signalled her desire to one day be prime minister. Asked in this month’s Total Politics magazine if she spoke to people about “One Nation”, she said: “If you ever met people from Walthamstow you wouldn’t tell them anything like that because they’d quite quickly put you in your place.”

The MP, credited with taking on payday lenders, was asked about any plans for No 10. She said: “There’s nothing wrong with being ambitious, but representing Walthamstow is the thing for me right now.”
