Winslow boys are reunited

The Old Vic production of The Winslow Boy has inspired a group of school chums to meet today for the first time in more than half a century.

The friends put on an all-male production of the play while at The Downs school near Malvern in the Fifties, although only one — RSC actor Sam Dastor — went on to tread the boards professionally.

“I won’t have seen most of them for more than 60 years, so it will be a curious meeting of septuagenarians,” says Dastor. Despite their age, they’re still Winslow boys at heart.
