Ever since Nigella Lawson posted her recipe for spaghetti alla puttanesca — trans slut’s pasta — on Twitter, there has been wild speculation over who was the intended target of her insult. Was it Charles Saatchi’s new girlfriend, Trinny Woodall? Or one of the Grillo sisters who, like the popular pasta dish, come from southern Italy? Or, just possibly, has everyone furiously been over-analysing an innocent spaghetti recipe?
“For the last time: my only agenda ever is food,” tweeted Nigella. “Enough now!” And then she posted a picture of “steak, topped with bone marrow, gingery slaw on the side”, surely a reference to ... er?
