Londoner's Diary: Lin-Manuel Miranda and Meryl Streep in London: Trump's favourites

I wanna be in the room where it happens: Meryl Streep, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Rob Marshall and John LeDuca
17 January 2017

Meryl Streep and the musical Hamilton’s creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, above left and second left, are two of the most overrated actors in America. Well at least according to Donald Trump.

But if they are seeking safe exile, London is the place to be. Both are in town for the filming of Mary Poppins Returns, the Disney sequel to the Julie Andrews classic, at Pinewood Studios and around town. Miranda posted an image yesterday of him tucking in to a slice of rainbow cake for his 37th birthday.

Also there were the film’s director Rob Marshall, right, and producer John DeLuca, second right, neither of whom have been called overrated by Trump as yet.

It was quite a day for Miranda yesterday as pre-sale tickets to Hamilton’s London transfer caused a buying frenzy. The Trump Effect?
