Chris Christie feels the heat after his team’s dirty tricks

Chris Christie, governor of New Jersey and potential US Republican candidate, is under fire after his team allegedly orchestrated roadworks on the George Washington Bridge that connects New York to New Jersey, to punish a disloyal local mayor. Christie claims it was part of a traffic study but he’s now apologised for his team’s dirty tricks.

FT editor Lionel Barber thinks New York may be losing its edge. “Tony Soprano would not have settled scores with a ‘traffic study’”, he quipped.
