A tricky curtain-up for Antony Sher's new play

Problems with the Olivier Theatre’s revolving stage at a preview of Carl Zuckmayer’s The Captain of Köpenick, starring Antony Sher, meant a slightly longer interval, during which lots of hammering and electric drills were heard.

A noticeable number of disgruntled audience members left before the play resumed. Let’s hope they sort things out before press night on Tuesday.
