At least Denis MacShane, the former Labour minister who faces a jail term after pleading guilty to expenses fraud, can turn to his partner Vicky Pryce for advice.

“There is a lot to learn about how to cope with it,” she tells Bobby Friedman and Rupert Myers in the Independent podcast Political Takeout. “I was vaguely thinking of writing ‘100 things to know before you go to prison’. I’m sure it’d be a serious bestseller.”
