Have you ever watched a television sitcom and wondered what it would be like to live in the characters’ flat?

Now Londoners have the chance to make that dream a reality as the home from Channel 4’s Spaced has gone on the market.

The two-double bedroom flat in a Grade II listed building in Tufnell Park is being put up for rent by TMD Properties in Highgate.

The refurbished ground floor flat in Carleton Road was the setting for where Tim, played by Simon Pegg, and Daisy, played by Jessica Hynes, moved in together as a young professional couple despite barely knowing each other.

The characters, both in their 20s, met in a café while flat hunting and in order to meet the requirements for the cheap flat at 23 Meteor Street, posed as a couple.

In the show, which ran for two series of seven episodes from 1999 to 2001, the property is marketed as fully furnished for £90 a week .

Sadly, those who want to snap up the property will have to dig a little deeper into their pockets as the home is now being rented at £1,993 a month.

Dan Goldsmith, who works in residential sales at TMD Properties, said: “We have had a fair bit of interest because it is a unique property.

“The price is pretty reasonable but we are aware of what it was going for back then [pre 2001].”

Asked whether he thought the high levels of interest came because of the home's appearance in Spaced, he added: “I don’t know if it is that. It has got unique qualities and that is what people look for in a home.

Since the property was advertised on Zoopla, Pegg’s PR team tweeted: “Professional couple only” – a reference to the show.
