A photographic exhibition of the Evening Standard’s The Estate We’re In campaign featuring life at Angell Town in Brixton goes on show from today.

It features the work of Matt Writtle and Kiran Mensah, both short-listed for the Orwell Prize for Exposing Britain’s Social Evils along with the writer of the award-winning series, David Cohen.

The private view, at Citi banking group in Canary Wharf, features 20 select images and includes unpublished as well as published work.

Mensah, who spent part of his youth at Angell Town, said: “I joined this project to help everyone on the estate by shining a light on the lack of aid and facilities.

"I never thought I’d see myself rewarded as part of the outcome.”
