A crack found on railways tracks has sparked a day of delays for rail commuters travelling to and from St Pancras International station.

Trains on the Southeastern High Speed line are facing delays and cancellations while Network Rail makes urgent repairs to the track.

Disruption is set to last all day, with speed restrictions between St Pancras and Stratford International.

A Southeastern spokesman said: “During routine track inspections a crack was found in a set of crossings just outside St Pancras international.

“As such a speed restriction has been put in place which will mean delays to Southeasterns High Speed trains going in to and out of London St Pancras International.

“To reduce the number of delayed services there will be a number of alterations including some services terminated early at either Ebbsfleet International or Stratford International, to High Speed trains this morning.

“High Speed trains to London St Pancras which do run will likely be delayed around 5-10 minutes on the approach to London St Pancras.

“Disruption is expected until the end of the day.”
