Secret Cinema is holding a special screening of Dead Poets Society in tribute to the film’s late star Robin Williams.

The London screening of the Oscar-winning 1989 film will be held at the Troxy theatre in Limehouse, with all profits being donated to mental health charity Mind.

Williams, who played teacher John Keating in the film, was found dead at his California home on yesterday.

Dead Poets Society tells the story of an English teacher (Keating) who inspires his students through his teaching of poetry. The film was critically acclaimed and took home the award for Best Original Screenplay at the 1990 Oscars.

Organisers of Secret Cinema, who made the headlines recently after cancelling the opening run of shows for their latest project, Back to the Future, say the special screening will feature live poetry reading, music and “many secret surprises to commemorate the life of Robin Williams.”

The event will take place this Friday (August 15), with tickets available from 1pm at robinwilliams.secretcinema.org.
