Song lyrics for a London-inspired reworking of the Lord's Prayer by Harrow-born musician Ian Dury have made their way on to an official Transport for London (TfL) notice board.

The song, which Dury entitled 'The Bus Drivers' Prayer', describes a journey through the capital, stopping at locations from Wimbledon to Crouch End.

Dury's lyrics substitute 'Heaven' for 'Hendon' in the original prayer's opening line and later refer to 'Temple Station' in place of 'temptation'.

The track featured on the musician's seventh solo album 'The Bus Driver's Prayer and Other Stories', released in 1992, which he recorded without his band the Blockheads.

It remains unclear whether an image of the adapted TfL notice board, which has been shared thousands of times on Twitter, is genuine.

Fans of the poster have speculated it may have been created using an app which allows internet users to design their own TfL notices.
