Oxford Street and Regent Street shut to traffic on Saturday for VIP Day

23 November 2012

Oxford Street and Regent Street will be closed to traffic on Saturday as part of its annual Christmas shopping event.

West End VIP (Very Important Pedestrian) Day will see the roads shut off and fully pedestrianised between 8am and 8pm.

The areas affected will be Oxford Street, from Portman Street to Tottenham Court Road, and Regent Street, from Piccadilly Circus to Oxford Circus.

The event is being sponsored by American Express Card, which will donate £1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every transaction using its cards.

Among those running special events for the event will be the Gaucho steak and grill restaurant which is launching a Gentleman's Grotto.

And while diners have their meal staff will run a wrapping service for any Christmas gifts.
