The New York Jets have gone to great lengths to ensure they stand the best possible chances of winning when they take on the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

The NFL team has spent months preparing for the game, dotting every i and crossing every t to ensure that nothing will put the players off their game - not even our thin British toilet paper.

The team has shipped in 350 rolls of loo roll from the States to replace, what the New York Times calls "the thinner version used in England."

In total the team has packed more than 5,000 items — from cereal and snacks to extension cords and adaptor plugs to gauze pads and wristbands — onto a ship containing supplies for all six N.F.L. teams playing in London this season.

Among the items The Jets have packed are an industrial launderer to wash their muddy kits, and 263 boxes packed with American food items, including cereal, condiments, snacks, and drinks to provide a taste of home.

The team will also be bringing along a private chef, who will be flown in to observe how food is cooked and served at team headquarters.

The Jets learned last November that they would be playing in London, and have spent the past 11 months planning for the 65 hours overseas they will spend overseas - an undertaking that involved 10 times as much work as preparing for a game in the States.

“Some may say that’s a little over the top or whatnot, but it didn’t really cost that much, so why not?” Aaron Degerness, the Jets’ senior manager of team operations said, of his team's comprehensive rider.

“We’re basically trying to replicate everything that we’re doing here over there.”
