Londoners will enjoy clearer skies and warm temperatures this weekend after the recent spell of wet weather.
Forecasters say although a front moving in across the Atlantic looks dramatic on satellite images, it will not bring any form of severe weather.
Instead tomorrow will be “mainly dry with some bright spells.”
Temperatures will reach up to 19C (66F) in the capital - well above 15C (59F), the average for this time of year in the south east.
Similar conditions will remain throughout the weekend - with temperatures reaching 20C (68F) in the capital on Saturday. However, there may be some “light scattered showers” in the evening, forecasters say.
Sunday will see a “great deal of dry weather” but there “will be some rain around,” the Met Office added.
Dan Williams, a spokesman for the Met Office, added: “There is a front moving in across the Atlantic that does look dramatic on satellite images - but it will not bring any form of severe weather. Instead, conditions will remain unsettled.
“London will be mainly dry and bright with warm temperatures this weekend. There will be some scattered showers and this evening there will be heavy rain.”
