'Plane Stupid' Heathrow protester ripped to shreds live on radio

A Heathrow protester was torn apart on live radio this morning when he attempted to defend his group's actions.

Cameron Kaye, spokesman for PlaneStupid, a group that campaigns against Heathrow expansion, spoke to Nick Ferrari on LBC this morning, following the protest which caused chaos for tens of thousands of people.

The presenter asked him: “What gives your organisation the right to disrupt journeys that businessmen, business women, ordinary people, perhaps grieving relatives, those with people seriously ill overseas. What gives you the right to disrupt their journeys?"

Mr Kaye spluttered through his responses before apologising to the people who had their journeys disrupted.

However, the broadcaster shot him down, saying: "People like you don't care, you take these student politic actions, and you don't give a jot for the people whose lives you disrupt.

"You think you're making a point, you make a crass fool of yourself, of yourselves, and you lose any public sympathy."

Kaye then tried to interject to say his group were "trying to save the planet", before Ferrari told him to direct the disruption caused by their protests at the decision-makers, suggesting he chain himself to the gates of 10 Downing Street.

The presenter finished his harsh take-down of the group by saying: "I wish you nothing but failure with your purile protest.

"Next time you have an important appointment to get to I hope you are caught in a similar protest by another group.

"Cameron Kaye, you are PlaneStupid, and I think it does what it says on the tin."

Five people were arrested in the protest.
