Former Dragons' Den star and interior designer to the Beckhams Kelly Hoppen today praised the “hero” firefighters who rescued her after hours stuck in a lift.

The 56-year-old praised the six fire fighters who came to her rescue when she got trapped in the lift for hours yesterday afternoon.

The London Fire Brigade came to her rescue and managed to free her from the elevator and pose for pictures with the grateful Dragons Den star.

Last night Hoppen took to Twitter to lavish praise on the “incredible and amazing” crew.

She tweeted: “Rescued by London Fire [Brigade] tonight #stuckinaliftforhours you are my heroes thank you so much.”

Hoppen has featured in a string of television programmes in recent years including a three-year stint as one of the investors on BBC’s Dragons' Den, until she quit in January.

After announcing her predicament was over at about 6pm, her Twitter followers indulged in some gentle ribbing.

One follower said: “Did you say ‘I’m out’ when they got you out?”

Kelly replied: “haha I should have very witty.”

Firefighter Matt Jackson responded and complimented Hoppen on her car.

She replied: “Thank you so much you are my hero I thought I would be there all night ! Not much of a #dragon!”
