Elderly woman seriously injured in hospital after being hit by motorbike in north west London

An elderly woman was today being treated for serious injuries in hospital after being hit by a motorbike in north west London.

The penioner, who is aged in her 70s, was knocked down in Eastcote Lane next to the junction with Salter Close just after 8.30pm yesterday.

She was taken for treatment at a central London hospital.

Police today described her injuries as "not life-threatening" as they appealed for witnesses to the crash to speak to them.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, was also injured in the accident and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

He was not arrested, Scotland Yard said.
