24 July 2013

Canary Wharf has appointed its first Muslim cleric to a chaplaincy team that looks after workers, visitors and nearby residents.

Shaykh Ibrahim Mogra has been an imam for more than 20 years and is assistant general secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain.

He lives in Leicester but will travel down one day a week to work at One Canada Square in a team that includes an Anglican vicar, Catholic priest and rabbi.

Ibrahim said: “I am very much looking forward to working here, bringing my experience and learning more about how the chaplaincy reaches out and works with the business and retail communities.”
