A statue of the late singer Amy Winehouse was today unveiled in her beloved Camden.

Her father, Mitch Winehouse, led the tributes as the bronze statue was revealed to fans gathered at Camden market.

"The family have always been keen to have a memorial for her in the place she loved the most, which will provide fans a place to visit and attract people to the area," he said.

Mr Winehouse was joined by his wife, Janis, and EastEnders' Barbara Windsor as well as sculptor Scott Eaton.

The life-size bronze statue, sculpted by Scott Eaton stands at 175cm tall and was unveiled on what would have been the singer's 31st birthday.

Ms Winehouse, famous for hits including 'Rehab' and 'Love Is A Losing Game', died from alcohol poisoning aged 27.

Her statue was placed in Camden Market in order for it to be accessible to the public, her father said.
