Archway station latest: Person dies after falling on tracks on Northern line

A person has died after falling onto the tracks at Archway Station.

The incident occured shortly before 4.30pm on Monday.

Services have been stopped on the Northern Line between Camden Town and High Barnet.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 4:22pm today (21 January) to an incident at Archway Underground Station, N19.

"We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a single responder in a car to the scene. We also dispatched our hazardous area response team (HART) and London's Air Ambulance.

"Sadly, a person was found dead at the scene."

Transport for London said there are severe delays in both directions on the entire line due to the incident.

They tweeted: "We are sorry to advise that there is no service between Camden Town and High Barnet / Mill Hill East northbound only while emergency services deal with a casualty on the track."
