A woman has been charged after an abusive note was left on an ambulance which read: "you have no right to be parked here.”

Kirsty Sharman, 26, has been charged with a public order offence in connection to the incident in Stoke-on-Trent. She is due to appear in court on Tuesday.

The crew was also allegedly subjected to verbal abuse after parking in a residential street while responding to a 999 call in the Tunstall area of the city at the weekend.

Staffordshire Police said Sharman, who is from Tunstall, had also been charged with breach of a restraining order.

The angry note was left on an ambulance which was parked while paramedics treated a patient

She will appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme later today.

The arrest followed a plea on social media by ambulance staff, who reported how colleagues had found a hand-written note complaining that the vehicle was parked outside their house.
