A teenage boy is fighting for life in hospital after being stabbed in a south east London street.

Witnesses described seeing a gang of teenagers running and screaming shortly before the attack in Thamesmead at around 10pm on Monday.

Police were called to Curlew Close and found a 15-year-old boy who had been stabbed.

Paramedics rushed him to hospital where he remains with life-threatening injuries, police said on Tuesday.

Bystanders described seeing a large group of teenagers running along Crossway, near to the junction with Glendale Way.

On Facebook, Charinna Jane said: “There was a house party which stayed calm and went well.

“[The boy] was on his way home waiting for a bus when he was attacked in front of his friends.”

Angela Mckenna, said a "big group of kids" came out of a party, followed by “screaming and madness” as they ran up and down the roads.

She said she then heard sirens as an ambulance sped to the scene.

Detectives in Bexley are now investigating what happened.

A spokeswoman for the Met Police said they have not yet made any arrests.
