Police seized a sawn-off shotgun after two suspects travelling in an allegedly stolen car led officers on a chase in north London.
Patrol officers attempted to stop a green Vauxhall that was being driven erratically in Muswell Hill Road, at about 9.30pm on Friday, police said.
The car sped off but was halted by police several streets away in Twyford Avenue.
The 17-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and possessing Class A drugs.
He was also arrested on suspicion of taking and driving away, driving without a license or insurance, driving dangerously and failing to stop for police.
A 25-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, allegedly ran off and was later found hiding in a nearby garden.
Police, who were assisted by the National Police Air Service and the Met's dog unit, said a bag was recovered nearby, which contained a sawn-off shotgun, cash and Class A drugs.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm, Class A drugs and allowing himself to be carried in the vehicle.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Both suspects were taken to a west London police station where they remain in custody.
“Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command have been informed. Enquiries continue.”
