A man was tasered by police in east London after failing to attend a court appearance.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s territorial support group were called to an address in Chittys Lane, Dagenham, yesterday to arrest the man for failing to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

The 26-year-old was due to appear for grievous bodily harm and resisted arrest when officers arrived at the address.

He was tasered by police before being arrested and taken to an east London police.

The man is due to appear in custody at Snaresbrook Crown Court today.
