A man has been stabbed near a south east London primary school this afternoon.

London’s Air Ambulance landed in the grounds of South Rise Primary School, Plumstead, shortly after 3.30 today while other paramedics attended by road.

A spokeswoman for the Met Police confirmed they had been called to reports of a man suffering stab wounds in nearby Congo Road.

The man was taken to a south London hospital but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Neighbours wrote on social media that a property on the road had been cordoned off while police with sniffer dogs were searching the immediate area.

There have been no arrests so far.
