A man is in a critical condition in hospital today after a fight outside a pub in east London.

The 20-year-old victim was found lying unconscious on the pavement next to the World's Inn pub in South Street, Romford, at about 2.25am this morning.

He was taken to an east London hospital where he was found to be suffering from serious head injuries.

Detectives in Havering are investigating the attack.

They believe the man was involved in a fight "following an altercation with a group of other men".

No arrests have been made.
